Bimmervin API — Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using the Bimmervin API, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Service description

Bimmervin API provides a pay-as-you-go REST API exposing data and operations relating to BMW, MINI, and Rolls-Royce vehicles, including (but not limited to): VIN lookup, factory order data (FA), navigation FSC code generation, CarPlay and Video In Motion activation, secure coding (NCD), and various service tokens.

The service is delivered programmatically via HTTPS. No physical goods are sold.

3. Account & credentials

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials (email, password, Client ID, Client Secret) confidential. You must not share your credentials with third parties. Any activity originating from your account is your responsibility.

You may regenerate your Client Secret at any time from your dashboard. Doing so immediately invalidates the previous secret.

4. Credits & payment

The API operates on a credit-based, pay-as-you-go model. Credits are purchased in advance via Stripe and are consumed on each API call. Per-call credit costs are listed in the dashboard and may change with notice; pricing in effect at the time of a call applies.

Credits do not expire. Credits are non-refundable once purchased and added to your balance.

5. Refunds for failed calls

If an API call fails due to a server-side error attributable to us (5xx response, internal failure), the credits charged for that call are automatically refunded to your balance. Calls that fail due to invalid input (4xx response — e.g. malformed VIN, vehicle not found) are not refunded; the lookup was performed, the answer was returned.

6. Acceptable use

You may not use the API to:

  • Reproduce, resell, or redistribute API responses as a competing API
  • Reverse-engineer or extract our underlying systems
  • Automate at scale beyond your account's rate limit (or otherwise circumvent rate limits)
  • Attempt to access another customer's account or data
  • Use the service for any unlawful activity

We may suspend or terminate your account without notice for breaches of acceptable use.

7. Data retention

API request logs (including the VIN searched, endpoint called, and response status) are retained for up to 90 days for billing and audit purposes. Generated artifacts (FSC codes, repair kits, NCD files, USB packs) may be retained for up to 90 days for download by you, then automatically deleted.

8. Limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages arising from your use of the API.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in the dashboard. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

10. Termination

You may close your account at any time from the dashboard or by contacting us. We may terminate accounts for breach of these terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Bimmervin API operates.
